i have a few things to say about insulin before we get started here. first (this disclaimer is posted around the net on just about every thread talking about insulin) insulin is one of the few drugs used in BB that can kill you with one use. IMO, to let that happen, you'd have to be pretty dumb, but none the less, it is possible. if you follow directions and eat enough carbs at the right times, you will be ok. if you are predisposed to having problems with your blood sugar, insulin may bring it out. this is good reason to start small and see ow you respond. finally, i'm gonna warn you, there is a good chance that insulin's main effect may be that you get really really fat. it can work well for people who have a very hard time adding mass and stay skinny even with 6000 plus calorie diets, but for a lot of people, they get fat.

there are 2 types of insulin that i'd suggest for BB purposes for a beginner. humalin R or humalog. log is the easier of the two to work with. it is the fastest. it only lasts 2 hours. here is how i would use it. start with a low dose, say 4 IU. for every IU, you will need to consume 10 carbs. one hour before you train, consume a solid meal containing 50g protein and at least 40g carbs. then 30 min before you begin training, take your 4iu insulin. while i workout, i would consume a intra workout drink 30g dex and bcaa's. then post workout, i would consume 30 carbs, either oats or maltodex along with 50g whey. in about 45 min, consume another solid food meal rich in carbs and protein.

i would use it like this for your first run, only on training days. then next time, when you're more comfortable, you can consider using 2 doses a day. one in the morning and one as outlined above. in the morning, take 10g of carbs in a shake per 1iu insulin and make sure to eat again in about 1.5 to 2 hours. keep simple sugars on hand and watch for signs of going hypo. if you feel light headed, dizzy, sweaty, confused, take in simple carbs asap.

humilin r will last 2x as long as log. you will need to feed the insulin every 2 hours for 4-6 hours.
