    Catabolic state in mornng hours?

The info I have seen on here over the past months has been amazing and I value your input because much of it has worked for me! What is your opinion on keeping your bod in a catabolic fat burning stage year round in the morning? I personally like to get up at 8am and drink a Mtn Dew (I lack appetite early hours). Around 10:30 ill finally eat a heavy serving of oats. Half hour later I down a large protein shake. Around 1pm I finally begin the rest of my daily meals leading up to about 3600 cals and 200 g protein for the day.I have always enjoyed my day better this way and stay quite lean, but that doesn't mean its good for me. What do you think?

Thanks for the kind words, bro. I'm glad to know I'm helping here.

Everyone is always scared of going catabolic! "I have't eaten for 3 hours! NO, I'M CATABOLIC!" Haha. Catabolism is a necessary part of life for a bodybuilder. Breaking down muscle in the gym is a controled catabolic event. The time we are sleeping at night becomes catabolic due to the 8 hour fast. Fasted AM cardio is a great example of using catabolim to our advantage, to help us, more quickly, reach our fat burning goals. There are a lot of periods in our 24 hour day, where we are catabolic, but it is our job to force anabolism and control these periods...That is, if we want to progress and make the most out of our work in the sport of bodybuilding.

First off, as a dedicated bodybuilder, that loves the lifestyle and all that goes into it, I cannot in any way, cosign someone consuming nothing but Mt Dew for the first 2 to 3 hours of their day! LOL. We are creatures of habbit. You just have to put some work into changing your habbits. You can force yourself to do whatever you want to do. It all depends on how bad you want it. If you are happy with your gains, then more power to you, but if you want to see just how far you can take your muscle growth, you'll need to step it up. Believe me, there are times that I have to force feed my meals, in order to get them down. Over time, you will train your body to want and need food in the morning, when you wake up. You just have to be disciplined.

Here are some tips and ideas. You don't need to eat solid food, in order to get nutrients in. You can make a meal replacement shake with whey for protein, oats or maltodex for carbs, peanut butter or mac oil for fat. Or, a lot of times, earlier in the day, if I don't want solid foods, I will use a tub of liquid egg white for my protein. Just drink it right down. Its pasturized and safe. After you get over the mental part, it's a little thicker than whole milk and goes right down. Couple that with some sprouted grain toast and natrual peanut butter. Toast might be the easiet thing to eat on the planet! I've never not been able to eat toast. If you need some more help, do some AM cardio for 20 minutes 4-5 days a wk. Just walk on a treadmill at 125-130 BPM, on a slight incline of 3. This will fire your metabolism up. Or do the cardio before bed.

Train your body to eat when you want it to. We all struggle with some part of the diet. This is very common. Figure out how to over come it, if you want to be your best!
