designing an insulin plan

    designing an insulin plan
    on: 2013-07-21 12:59:17
I'm currently running gh at 4iu's a day split morning/mid afternoon and I want to add insulin into my cycle.

I'm looking at adding aspart insulin and have been told to start at 4iu's post workout.

I've been given the guidance of eating 50g of carbs immediately after the injection and then another 50-100g 1 hour later and then another 50-100 an hour after that.

From my understanding the aspart insulin will remain active in my system for up to 5 hours and the above plan is what was recommended to me. Do you have any advice on the guidance I was given? Is there anything you would change and do differently?

    Thanks for your time,
    Walter

first off, i want to state for anyone reading this, insulin is one of the most dangerous drugs in the sport. its one of the few things that can kill you if you mess it up. if you arent at a high level of competitive bodybuilding, i would stay away. for the most part, insulin makes most people fat anyway.

i'm going to tell you how i use insulin and you can take it from there. i prefer humilin r. i make sure that i cover each IU with 10g carbs, every 2 hours for 6 hours. i always keep dextrose or very simple carbs on hand in case i go hypo. even with the best laid plans, i've had it happen.

i start by taking it post workout and eventually, move to using it first thing in the morning as well. i always eat about 20 min before taking a shot and then eat each next meal in 2 hr increments

you'll find that you don't need much to evoke a good response. i'd start with 4iu and get used to using it at that dose. as you add an IU, make sure to add 10 carbs.8-10 iu should be more than enough. i wouldnt go higher than that. i would also keep your fat intake down while the insulin is active.

insulin is a great tool for some, but for most people, it can add a lot of body fat. you want to be very careful with that. dont mistake scale weight for all muscle. insulin is taking your nutrients and storing them where ever it can, in muscle and as fat. it works well for guys who are naturally very lean and have a hard time getting fat....guys who can eat 8000 cal diets and not get too out of shape. for guys that have to keep carbs low in the off season, it can end up ruining their physique, quickly.
