Direction on test e or var

Ok ok bro. I have read probably 93% of this forum and holy ballz what a wealth of knowledge. Thanks for taking the time to answer all these questions, which many were repeats. I will hopefully not repeat. Now, to my unique snowflake question. Here I am in journey. I am 5'9" 200lbs roughly 16-18%BF. You have made it abundantly clear gear is not for losing weight and I am not intended to drop much. I am not a BB nor powerlifter but I mainly train for strength utilizing the wendler 531 system. I run sprints for conditioning. What is your opinion on the cycle I should run. I want increase my strength. Not looking to add any bulk but feel my maxes should be higher for my body weight and of course add lean gains. Because let's face it who doesn't want to look sexy with their shirt off(primary focus is strength doe). So would you recommend the first timer test e cycle at 250 a week with adex(I have read it about 25 times, wise words broseph) ooooorrrr run the Var cycle for athletic performance at 30mg to 40mg 4-6wks. Of course followed by the novla pct. I have only run one PH cycle of Trenedrol 2 yrs ago. And I totally screwed the pooch on that pct. All your thoughts and opinions welcome, swoldier.

    Dear Unique Snowflake,

Thanks for reading the Q/A. For you, I would suggest going with the test, 250mg EW along with an AI and PCT. It will give you a lot of additional strength and allow you to probably even grow muscle while getting leaner, assuming your diet is right. At 18% BF, you have some room to comfortablly inprove and still get a lot stronger, as well as faster in your sprinting. Make sure that you are getting plenty of protein, at least 200g to start and begin watching your carbs. Maybe add in some slow steady state cardio for added fat loss.

If you were to use var, the cycle would have to be shorter and you can only change so much in a given period of time. If you do a nice, low dose test cycle for 12 wks, keeping your estrgoen in check, you can continue to improve your strength and reduce your fat for a longer period of time.

Also, you might want to consider a little more volume to your routine, if you want to look good with your shirt off. Doesn't take much to do some added higher rep sets at the end of a workout. You'll have to figure out what you can handle of course. Don't want to be in the gym for 4 hours, but I'm sure you can add in a couple exercises per body part that are in the higher rep range. IME, for most everyone I've worked with, muscle growth happens in at least the 8 rep range, if not much higher. So maybe consider adding a little more in, at the end of a workout. Tap into so different fibers!
