What's your thoughts on BCAA/eaas? Some sources say as long as you eat enough food it doesn't matter, others say they're a necessity. Also does it make a difference on gear or off? Thanks in advance for all the advice.

Great topic. When it comes to meals, BCAA nor EAA will replace food. They won't even come close. As for BCAA, I'm not a huge fan. I used to use them before fasted cardio to help "protect" muscle tissue while walking on the treadmill on an empty stomach. I realized that once I stopped using them, my fat loss progress started to get much faster. Also leucine can spike insulin and sometimes would cause me to go hypo, which wasn't at all fun, while trying to do fasted cardio. And later, I realized, there was really no need to take BCAA to protect muscle. Thats what all the steroids were for! And beleive me, test is going to save much more muscle than BCAA ever will ;)

EAA on the other hand, play an active role in my supps today. EAA contain the essencial aminos to build protein. Intra workout, I use a high molecular weight carb, Highly Branced Cyclic Dextrin along with EAA. The HBCD shuttles the EAA directly to the muscle to speed recovery and build new tissue. This is a great combo to use in the off season, for guys that are working HARD in the gym. On or off gear, I would suggest this combo. I didn't invent it. I've learned it from John Meadows. If you can't afford HBCD, waxie maze is the next best thing.
