Being in an anabolic or catobolic state isn't something that happens to one muscle. Its an entire body experience. There is either more protein going into the muscle cells than is leaving it, or there is more protein leaving the muscle cell than entering. IME, your best bet is to go into a workout, body filled with nutrients from the previous meal/meals. Get in, do the work you need to do, get out and feed. I would suggest starting with a whey protein to get nutrients in fast. Then I'd go to solid food within the next hour. I would also continue to take protien in every 2-3 hours through the day. You want a constant flow of protein going into the muscle. I would suggest that you get your workout in, in one of these 2-3 hour windows between meals.
So in short, as long as you are training your chest and legs within a couple of hours total, then getting out to fill back up, you'll be ok
