You can only gain so much weight at once. If you put on 25 lbs, thats pretty dramatic and I would think that was the most you really could have expected. I don't think that adding more would have given you better effect. Think about taking a pain relievier for a headache. If you take Advil and it works, there was no sense in taking advil and asprin and tylenol. It wouldn't cure your headache that much better. And adding in another compound wouldn't have given you 1/3 more size.
Any cycle can be a mass gaining cycle if you eat right and how perfect your diet is, will be a major factor in how much quality muscle you can add. Diet, optimal training for your body type and rest. These factors will make any cycle better.
So next time around, if you want to add something more, you could try using an oral to kick start, like dbol of the first 6 wks. Yes it will produce water retenetion, but this a means to an end and will go away after you come off of it
