Hey bud I'm gonna be starting insulin for the first time. The only one I can get is humulin R... I have been reading Your answers to people in the past about it. Can you just explain to me step by step on how to take it from before the shot to what I do after . All the way until it's out of my system.. I'm thinking of only running it post workout for a while till I get comfortable and because I go the the gym directly after work so I wanna keep it away from work. Just give me a example of exactly what you would do in my shoes so I can copy it and have a simple picture. Thank you very much. Your answers are always extremely appreciated.

Ok, first of all, make sure you keep some simpe carbs on hand. Some kind of fast acting sugar. Even with the best laid plans, you can go hypo and you want to be ready for it. DO NOT use humilin r within 6 hours of going to bed. Do not take a nap while the insulin is active. If you feel any signs of going hypo, take in simple sugars, ASAP. If you train later at night, I would suggest taking it earlier. If you take it first thing in the morning, after your first meal, it will fill you up and you will see it's effect later in the day when you train because you will have moved a lot more nutrients to the muscle. Pumps will be amazing

For your first run, I would start with about 3-4 iu. 4iu will be enough to see a difference. Every wk, you can add 1iu. I would not go higher than 6-8iu per shot. For every 1iu, you will want to consume 10 carbs. You will want to eat your meal before you take insulin, so that it is already in your system when it begins working. So if you are taking 4iu post training, I would consume a shake containing 50g of protein and at least 40 carbs. I usually go higher than needed. I would make these carbs a mix of fast and slow acting carbs. Somewhere around 30 carbs of maltodex and 10-15 carbs of dextrose. I would also add 10g creatine to this shake. I would drink my shake and then take my insulin 10-15 min later. After my post workout shake, I eat a solid food meal 1 hour later, low in fat, high in protein and with at least 40g more complex carbs. From there, you should be able to continue on, every two hours, having a meal of low fat, high protein and 40g carbs. After 6 hours, it should be low enough to add more fats to your meals.
