I dont think that 8 wks is a long enough time to make a big difference in muscle gains or in fat loss. I would pick a goal and stick to it for a longer time. If you want to grow, give yourself at least 5-6 monts of actual bulking, using gear for at least part of this, like 12-16 wks. Then recover and teach your body to hold this new muscle. From there, I would start a cut and give yourself 20 wks to get into awesome shape. Just my opinion though. I think a lot of people get caught up in trying to bulk and then cut in a short time. 99% of the time they never get as big as they could have and they never get truely lean
