i'm not a fan of dairy and i dont use much in my diet. the closest thing to a dairy product that i use on a regular basis is whey iso. in the off season, i will use 1 cup keifer in the morning for probiotics and sometimes in the depths of an off season, i will add a little cottage cheese to a diet, right before bed. i dont use it as a main protein source though. when preparing for a contest, i learned long ago that one of the first things to cut out is dairy. once it was out of my system, i found that i never really needed it anyway. i believe that there are a lot of people that suffer from dairy allergies. it may not be so bad that you have strong advese effects from it, but it still can cause inflamation, leaving you with a thin film over your muscle. i've heard stories from back in the 50's and 60's when guys would drink a whole gallon of milk a day, mixed with eggs, but remember this was a time when supps weren't available like they are now. thankfully, there are much better options when we want to add mass! milk contain protein, yes, but it also contains sugar. i feel that the weight gained from milk isn't the leanest. i depend on meats, eggs and to a lesser extent whey for my protein needs.
