Great question. The answer will come down to a lot of factors. Goals are a big one. If you are trying to gain mass, your menu can be a lot more diverse than if you are trying to get lean. And if you are trying to get lean, it will come down to how lean you are trying to get. I'm confident that a lot of guys can keep getting leaner while eating bread for instance, but for most guys, there will come a point that they will want to replace bread with a cleaner carb, in order to continue getting lean. It also depends on your response to carbs. An ecto has a lot more room than a endo, trying to lose fat. At the end of the day, brown rice, sweet potato and oats are popular for a reason. They work!
